The collaborative unit comprises a number of elements that are designed to encourage you to engage with open- ended exploration and experimentation without an anticipation of a final outcome. Ultimately there will be a set of assessment requirements including a finished piece but we hope you are led to this through the process of research, experimentation and development. This period of study commences with ‘the secret envelope’ set of exercises. All of these tasks are starting points for individual investigation. They are prompts for you to take your own areas of interest further. Each envelope contains a bespoke set of tasks. You will not be overly guided as to how you investigate these.

Topic: Map
Brief: With a piece of a map that is provided create something new.
Experiment: once extraced the greographical lines that mark altitude I used them to create symbols/patterns. Among these forms a series of flowers in particular has then been object of further experimentation.
